The InterContinental London Park Lane has announced the launch of its new Capital suite, which totals more than 3,600 square feet on the hotel’s first floor. The design-driven business suite is crafted by local practice RPW Design with a design influenced by the nearby Hyde Park and Hamilton Place as well as the hotel’s own history.
Two private, spacious en-suite bedrooms are outfitted within the Capital suite along with a boardroom that is accessed via a private corridor, lift, and entrance. A private office and additional meeting space are also installed on the opposite end of the suite, and both are linked to the boardroom to create a boutique office if necessary. Overlooking the Wellington Arch, the suite is luxuriously adorned with natural materials like soft leathers, stone, and walnut timbers to inform the simple color palette. Artwork and accessories further emphasize a sense of place.
The Hamilton bedroom includes a headboard accented with bespoke stitching that forms a pattern representative of London’s Royal Parks. The green landscape of the park also inspired the textures and themes of the space’s carpeting, while the master bedroom frames the bed with bronze paneling that resembles windows clad with climbing foliage and songbirds. Art consultant Peter Millard was tapped to assist in crafting artistic renderings of the nature theme, evident in elements like the resin sculpture that adorns the bathroom mirror.
