The Hotel Indigo is slated to plant its next flag in Brooklyn’s Willamsburg neighborhood next month, in a building designed by locally based Kutnicki Bernstein Architects and interiors by fellow New York firm Cl-oth Interiors.
“The Hotel Indigo Williamsburg is designed to relate to the surrounding dynamic neighborhood and to integrate that story through arts,” says Szandra Toth, principal at Cl-oth Interiors. “The open lobby space is designed to foster engagement between the community and hotel guests. Each piece of furniture and accessory’s shape and design is an art installation itself.”
The double-height lobby will be outfitted with floor-to-ceiling windows that reinforce the surroundings. Interiors will be adorned with a muted color palette and geometric and chrome elements. An elongated, oval bar will serve as the focal point of the communal space, lined with custom terrazzo floors and local millwork.
Elevated finishes from hardwood floors to spa-inspired bathrooms will define each of the 187 guestrooms, which include bi-level loft suites and the 1,100-square-foot grand suite. Select units will be attached to large balconies and boast colorful rugs by local artist Alex Proba. Square and circular light fixtures will be installed in each guestroom alongside chrome-wrapped beds and one-piece solid black and white marble desks.
The hotel will also be home to the dual-level, indoor-outdoor eatery Kitch, lobby bar and lounge Prospect, and the Williamsburg Swim Club, the hotel’s seasonal pool bar and sundeck that will be conceived as an island-like refuge.
