The North Point waterfront in Hong Kong has been enhanced with the addition of the Hotel VIC on the Harbour within a newly constructed twin tower volume. The 671-room property’s design reflects the spirit of Hong Kong’s lively neighborhood thanks to a design from local project architect Rocco Design Architects, AFSO, and international firm Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA), which handled the guestrooms.
Locally based design studio AFSO crafted the lobby and three restaurants, including the indoor-outdoor all-day dining concept the Farmhouse, which overlooks the harbor; the Farmhouse Deli; and the sophisticated Cruise restaurant on the 23rd floor, which boasts the only rooftop bar in North Point.
Meanwhile, the welcoming public space is inspired by the vibrant waterfront district, featuring textured glass fittings that refract light, mimicking the shimmer of water ripples. Contemporary artworks are curated across the property, including the lobby sculpture by Mexican sculptor Aldo Chaparro placed on top of the water to recall an urban reflection and Canadian artist David Sprigg’s modern 3D installation Epoch, which is on display at the entrance of the Cruise.
Additional amenities include a 24-hour fitness center, rooftop outdoor pool, steam rooms, and a sauna.
