Celebrating its 90th anniversary, the landmarked 1,544-room Hilton Chicago has received a modern upgrade from Looney & Associates, including overhauling guestrooms and meeting spaces. The Dallas-based firm drew inspiration from Chicago’s founding motto: Urbs in Horto, which translates to City in a Garden.
On the third floor, seven separate meeting rooms boast a cool palette of blue and purple hues that reference Lake Michigan and mix with geometric patterns, as well as Grand Waldorf chandeliers and modern pendants. The style continues in the outer corridors, where blue carpeting and gray and gold armchairs invite guests to stay a little longer.
Salon C spans more than 28,000 square feet and is one of four meeting rooms in the 119,000-square-foot Stevens Meeting Center. It’s brought to life with bold floral carpet, a warm red and gold palette, and soundproof movable walls.
The renovation is complete with the continental ballroom; 600 guestrooms, including the $1.8 million restoration of the 5,000-square-foot Conrad Hilton Suite, the largest suite in the Midwest; and the pool deck featuring outdoor daybeds and views of the city.
