The creative social club concept, h Club, has debuted stateside with a new outpost in Los Angeles. Born in London in 2004, the concept maintains its emphasis on diversity and collaboration, while also embracing a Southern California flair. The h Club Los Angeles features architecture crafted by HKS, while London-based design practice Russell Sage Studios conceived the warm and colorful interiors reminiscent of a grand tour across Europe.
Public spaces are punctuated by lush greenery and original artwork that help infuse a sense of consistent style across the interior’s five floors. The subtly vibrant Club Lounge evokes a colorful, Cuban-inspired palette amplified by multi-patterned fabrics that adorn velvet seating and other bespoke furniture. A Moroccan-inspired screening room is also crafted with ornate, handpainted wallpaper, red doors, and varied textures from wood to linen. Drawing inspiration from Sir John Soane’s Museum in London, the property is outfitted with a swimming pool and pool bar on the second floor as well. Unique to the Los Angeles location, the 18,000-square-foot rooftop comprises alfresco dining and lounge venues such as Jarman’s.
The h Club Los Angeles is also endowed with 35 bedrooms on the building’s third and fourth floors. Ranging from 750 to 1,100 square feet, each accommodation is configured with rich wood furniture, textured planters, custom Persian carpeting, and more original artwork. Cheeky wallpaper and marble trimmings also inject a dash of intrigue into the open, airy spaces.
