Graduate Hotels is set to expand its footprint into Lansing, Michigan, with a hotel adjacent to the Michigan State University campus in the city’s downtown. Construction on the ground-up project is slated to kick off in spring 2019 for completion in fall 2020. The property will open as the Graduate East Lansing, and span 10 stories.
The 194-room hotel will be uniquely crafted by AJ Capital Partners with elements inspired by the local community, university, and state history. An expansive lobby will provide visitors with space to socialize, unwind, and study, while a rooftop bar will overlook a peerless view of the university campus. In addition to ground-floor retail, the hotel will also be home to more than 5,000 square feet of meeting and event space.
“We are thrilled to join the vibrant and growing downtown core of East Lansing and expect the Graduate East Lansing hotel to provide an amenity that is unique to the city and university,” says AJ Capital COO Eric Hassberger. “As an MSU alum, I’m particularly excited to be a part of delivering a much-deserved hospitality experience to this great community and to watch students, alumni, and locals utilize our cafe, communal space, and roof top bar that will boast incredible views of campus.”
