The former Hotel Indigo in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood is set to undergo rebranding to become Claridge House. The revamp of the historic, 165-room property will also include a $9 million update from locally based design firm The Gettys Group.
A circular motif will define the renovation to symbolize the property coming full circle and returning to its original namesake and roots as a destination for locals and visitors alike. The motif will be featured in a custom chandelier that comprises silk-wrapped circular rings suspended over a large communal table in the residential-style lobby. The lobby will also be outfitted with a marble fireplace, as well as new restaurant and bar concept Juniper Spirits & Oysters, which will be equipped with circular pendant lights and brass accent rings. Guestroom artwork will serve as a nod to Claridge’s English roots with images of London streets along with maps of the city.
