WATG has completed its design for the Four Seasons Tianjin, which has debuted in the heart of China’s fourth-largest metropolitan region. The property contains 259 guestrooms, 90 residences, and 53,820 square feet of retail.
The design honors the region’s rich culture as an urban fabric and commercial hub, ultimately weaving the 689-foot-tall building naturally into the skyline. Spanning 559,720 square feet, the hotel welcomes guests with a nearly 60-foot-high atrium envisioned as an urban piazza that links a series of public spaces. The concept includes ample and delicate daylighting across public venues and residential-style accommodations.
The dining concept Cielo is flooded with natural light via grand windows and its glass ceiling. The venue ensures intimacy with atmospheric lighting after sundown to set the mood. An expansive outdoor garden pavilion overlooking the city is attached. Two ballrooms, three restaurants, the L’Océan Spa, and a fitness center are also housed onsite.
