Located at the bustling intersection of East Sixth and Waller Streets, the new East Austin Hotel has opened as a new anchor of the city’s downtown. The four-story boutique concept is crafted by locally based architecture firm Rhode Partners as well as fellow Austin designers Robin Kelley and Kathy Steele.
Evoking a vibrant, modernist flair, the East Austin Hotel features a midcentury-style aesthetic visibly influenced by Scandinavian design principles. Custom craftwork and artwork sourced from Denmark, Morocco, and other international outposts infuse a sense worldliness to the property, while a bespoke mural from local artist Jason Eatherly conveys a calm sense of place. Interiors are further punctuated with materials and furnishings sourced locally, while amenities including a courtyard pool and three F&B venues entice both visitors and Texans alike.
