Denihan Hospitality Group completed work on the $35 million refresh of properties across its Affinia Hotels & Suites brand in New York. Locations that received a facelift include the Shelburne Hotel & Suites, by Affinia, Garden Suites Hotel, by Affinia, and Fifty Hotel & Suites, by Affinia.
Seattle-based studio Dawson Design Associates oversaw the update of the Shelburne, whose guestrooms and corridors were upgraded with casual elegance expressed through warm tones, layered textures, and artwork reflective of the spirit of its Midtown East location in Manhattan.
Dawson also led the top-to-bottom refresh of the Fifty Hotel in collaboration with architect Nobutaka Ashihara. The property was reimagined with eclectic furnishings and artwork as well as a décor evocative of its Midtown surroundings. The multimillion-dollar redesign of the Gardens Suites was executed by locally based architect and designer Amanda Sullivan, who revamped the hotel as an artful urban garden that embraces daylight with a nature-based color palette.
