Hotel Nia has opened in Menlo Park, California as the latest entry into Marriott’s Autograph Collection. Cuningham Group conceived the glass-enclosed 11-story building with New York’s Colum McCartan handling the interiors and Sage Hospitality named as operator. The hotel captures a modernist style accented by organic and natural materials, custom furniture, and thought-provoking artwork.
Home to 250 guestrooms and nine suites, including the Nia suite, the hotel merges with the outside, which is reflected in a lush courtyard, outdoor gardens, a pool, and a fitness center clad with floor-to-ceiling windows. Design focal points also include the grand staircase, a suspended tree light in the elevator lobby, and full-size horizontal blue doors installed above the onsite restaurant. Channeling the idyllic aesthetic of the Mediterranean, the restaurant Porta Blu will arrive later this month with an airy, modern interior.
The hotel is crafted with 12,000 square feet of naturally lit, indoor-outdoor meeting space. Included among the 12 meeting and events venues is a ballroom, terrace, and executive boardroom. Second floor meeting rooms boast a terrace and framed views as well as floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors that open to the hotel’s interior courtyard. Artfully designed light fixtures, wallcoverings, and furniture are configured in each space to promote functionality and creativity.
