Collective Retreats has announced plans to introduce its very first seasonal accommodations in New York’s historic Governors Island. Set to debut this May, the Collective Governors Island, a New York City Retreat will accommodate 100 overnight visitors during its six-month run. The design team will include Cassie Novick of Collective Retreats Experience Design, New York-based Lynn Fritzlen Architect, and Oyster Bay, New York’s David R. Lamb Landscape Architecture.
The lodging concept will feature extensive open space for events as well as F&B options. Onsite dining will be offered in Three Peaks, including breakfast options, picnic box lunches, and barbecue-in-a-box, or a chef tableside farm-to-table-dinner, all served beneath the stars and against the backdrop of the Statue of Liberty. Boasting a minimal environmental impact, the multimillion-dollar project will include private en-suite bathroom luxury tents, modular containers, as well as premium bell tents with shared bathrooms. All will all come equipped with rain-style showers and spacious sinks and vanities.
“Since the inception of Collective Retreats, it has been our dream to have a presence in New York City,” says Peter Mack, founder and CEO of Collective Retreats. “We are thrilled to serve as the first hospitality brand to create an opportunity for New Yorkers and visitors to stay overnight and experience the beauty of Governors Island more deeply.”
