Dutch hotel company citizenM has introduced its third Paris location, the citizenM Paris Gare de Lyon Hotel. Housed within a former office block and designed by Amsterdam-based design firm Concrete, the 338-room hotel is centrally located with access to the Gare de Lyon train station.
Guests enter a double-height entrance punctuated by “Reflecting Holons,” an installation from artists Michiel Martens and Jetske Visser. The second-floor check-in and the signature citizenM living room enhance the arrival experience with an oversized fireplace and bespoke carpeting.
Anchoring the living room is the convivial dining and bar concept canteenM, which is crafted with custom artwork from French street artist Mast Cora and a bespoke fresco from Parisian artist Romain Froquet. The open-air patio also features suspended lanterns that divide the bar and meeting rooms. Public areas are designed as a series of partitioned enclaves, dotted throughout with modern furniture and the brand’s signature black cabinets.
Rooms are appointed with large beds, soft pendant lights, rain showers, and a mood tablet that controls to the room’s temperature, lighting, and more. The soft, versatile headboard converts the bed into a large sofa
The top floor hosts five meeting rooms with smart TVs as well as whiteboard walls. The cloudM sky bar crowns the property, offering views of the Seine and city below. Evoking a Parisian apartment, the bar features a light color palette, oak cabinets, and soft furniture. The marble bar top and glass shelves also add a Parisian touch.
