London-based architecture and design firm Chapman Taylor has received approval from the Vietnamese government to move forward with the development of the 11.8 million-square-foot Mui Dinh Eco-Resort along the country’s eastern coast. Spearheaded by the firm’s Bangkok office, the design of the mixed-use resort complex will reflect the tropical nature of its surroundings.

Inspired by the region’s rich history, tribal culture, and architecture, the design will comprise six resort hotels as well as a boutique unit. The property will include 7,000 guestrooms and 500 ocean-facing villas in addition to amenities like a theme park, casino, beach club, and mountain clubhouse.

“We are delighted that the Vietnamese government has given its full support to our masterplan and this ambitious and unique eco-development, which will transform this beautiful coastal area into a new exciting sustainable destination and give an economic boost to this region of eastern Vietnam,” says Oscar Martinez, director of Chapman Taylor’s Bangkok office.
