The North London food hall Bang Bang Oriental is slated for its opening this summer with designs from Westminster, England-based firm Stiff + Trevillion. The sustainable, Pan-Asian dining and entertainment concept will include 33 food kiosks and 32,000 square feet, with seating for up to 450 diners.
“The Bang Bang concept layers a contemporary filter over the Pan-Asian culinary experience and [we] found it an incredibly exciting project to work on,” says Stiff + Trevillion director Richard Blandy. “The design emphasis is on clean lines and Eastern minimalism, utilizing robust natural materials and a muted palette that is peppered with the colors of the orient. Timber is celebrated and the signature diagonal tiling draws the Bang Bang brand into the architecture.”
The flagship Chinese restaurant Golden Dragon will also be onsite with 300 seats. The mezzanine floor will accommodate four separate retail units in addition to various amenities and communal spaces, including nail salons and beauty boutiques. Indoor-outdoor areas will serve as event venues for cooking classes and other cultural programming.
A bio-fuel cylinder will collect food waste for energy regeneration as part of the project’s effort to stay green.
