Marriott International’s Autograph Collection will make its debut in Pittsburgh with the opening of the Oaklander Hotel. Construction kicked off last month, under development with Oakland Fifth Avenue Hotel Associates, a partnership between Concord Hospitality and Callay Capital. It is slated to open its doors in fall 2018, featuring designs from Atlanta-based PFVS Architecture and Chicago’s Twofold studio.
The 10-story, 167-room hotel will be located centrally near the University of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Mellon University, Carlow College, and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Maximizing views of nearby landmarks, the lobby, lounge, and eatery will be housed on the top floor for an elevated arrival experience. An independent, street-level restaurant will be positioned at the front of the building along Bigelow Avenue, while a coffee shop will be installed in the back. The hotel will feature 2,200 square feet of meeting and fitness space.
