The Asbury Ocean Club Hotel is slated to arrive on the New Jersey coastline this summer as the latest fixture of the area’s revitalization. Teaming up for their second project together in the area, the distinguished team of Anda Andrei, Bonetti/Kozerski Architecture, and Handel Architects led the design of the Asbury Park, New Jersey hotel, following the launch of the Asbury Hotel in 2017.
“There’s a kind of magic to being at the beach, in any season or weather, and that’s what’s captured in every detail of the Asbury Ocean Club Hotel,” Andrei says. “The hotel conveys a feeling you usually have to travel very far to experience—the peace and relaxation of a one-of-a-kind oasis. With that in mind, our design is focused on connecting every guest with gentle dunes and tranquil reflecting pools.”
The 54-room boutique hotel is housed across the fourth floor of the Asbury Ocean Club, a forthcoming luxury residence slated to arrive this summer. A vertical plane of glass and natural materials will define the structure, with interiors characterized by levity and openness. Guests are welcome to the fourth floor via a gallery-style reception space. Overlooking the pool deck, the lobby will be anchored by inviting sofas, sunken beds, and floor pillows, while trees and greenery will add a dash of organic charm.
Akin to a glass house, the Drawing Room will sit at the heart of the property with a glistening reflecting pool situated alongside a large fireplace finished with handmade olive-toned tiles. The fireplace will separate the space’s living room and open kitchen, where a communal oak table will accommodate a variety of functions. Included among the onsite F&B options will be the Gallery, a laidback indoor-outdoor concept that showcases a wooden table carved in Italy. A fine-dining concept and 22,000 square feet of retail are scheduled to debut on the ground floor in 2020.
Accommodations will range from one-bedroom suites to studio lofts that house banquettes for work or dining. Expansive 11-foot-tall wooden ceilings will mirror the floors, while balconies will each maximize the subtle curvature of the building’s design to frame views.
