Joali Maldives is set to make its debut next month as the first art-immersive luxury hotel concept in the tropical region. Located upon its own private island within the Raa Atoll, the property will comprise 73 villas, the Joali Spa by ESPA, and an experiential art studio and gallery.

The unique project will reflective the collaborative efforts of international design practice Autoban, Istanbul-based architecture firm Atolye4n, and Tokyo-based Studio Glitt. Inspired by Maldivian culture and environmental preservation efforts, the resort will extensively showcase artisan wood alongside natural, subtle colors that reflect the island’s culture and spirit. The onsite restaurant Saoke will arrive as the first dining concept on the island designed by Japanese architect Noriyoshi Muramatsu, while Vandhoo, Bellinis, and Her Kitchen will round out the culinary options. Cabanas and infinity pods will populate the Mura Bar, which will serve as a bar concept along with the Whiskey Lounge and Wine Cellar.

Ranging from one- to four-bedroom variations, the property’s 73 private beach and water villas will each boast a private infinity pool, a curated library, and handpicked artwork. Three-bedroom ocean residences will each be outfitted with more than 4,000 square feet of luxe living space as well as two walk-in closets and two living rooms. Two infinity pools, a spa room, and sauna will also be featured in the accommodation, while the four-bedroom beach residence holds more than 5,000 square feet of indoor-outdoor space, a private infinity pool, library, spa cabana, and sauna.
