Luxury extended stay brand AKA has introduced a newly completed Los Angeles location in West Hollywood, which is home to 110 residences available for stays of 31 days or more. Crafted by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) in collaboration with Lorcan O’Herlihy Architects (LOHA), the AKA West Hollywood spans eight stories with one- and two-bedroom suites as well as the penthouse residences on the eighth floor.
Ranging from 700 to 1,800 square feet, each unit is wrapped with floor-to-ceiling windows to frame city and coastal views. Luxe details including custom walk-in closets, marble bathrooms, private balconies, and bespoke furniture evoke opulence and minimalism alongside custom Italian stonework. Matte black cone pendants and credenzas finished in either matte or glossy lacquers complement handmade leather seating and concrete ceilings. Original artwork from Austin Kerr and photography by Jan Almquist further accent the sleek aesthetic.
Onsite amenities include the a.lounge+ terrace, a.cinema, AKA’s first Elixir bar, a private pool, and a fitness center designed by Antonio Citterio.
