Emerging hotel and coworking hybrid space Eaton Workshop is slated to make its debut in Washington, DC in spring 2018. Conceived in collaboration with New York-based design practice Gachot Studios, which served as creative consultants during planning, the property and flagship hotel will aim to attract socially conscious businesses, activists, and speakers to inform visitors on a range of political topics from climate change to race relations. A portion of revenue will be donated to nonprofits and artists.
All 209 guestrooms will be designed to reflect the aesthetic of European pied-a-terres, with two accommodations outfitted with an abundance of visual art supplies, including a large-scale printer. Amenities will include a radio station, 50-seat cinema, and holistic wellness program. Curated artwork as well as art, music, and film festivals will rotate through the hotel as well.
The Washington, DC outpost is one of four currently in the pipeline. The iconoclastic brand is forecasted to open in Hong Kong in 2018, as well as San Francisco, and Seattle in 2019.
