Sherwin-Williams announced the the rich, navy blue hue Naval SW 6244 as the 2020 Color of the Year. Drawing inspiration from the Roaring 1920s, the calm hue is conceived to evoke confidence while echoing an Art Deco palette.
“The use of color in interior design is not just about what a space looks like anymore, but how it makes you feel,” says Sue Wadden, director of color marketing at Sherwin-Williams. “Now, more than ever, people want to feel grounded at their personal environments to pursue their emotional well-beings. We’re predicting that the next decade in color is going to be bold. The vibrant energy and luxurious design of the speakeasy bars will make a comeback. And naval just fits into that, merging the desire for rich color with our yearning for relaxation.”
