Moxy Hotels from Marriott International has announced that it is on track to see rapid expansion over the next three years in 40 European markets. The bold, Millennial-focused brand has signed deals for more than 50 projects that are slated to open under the Moxy banner between now and 2020.
“Moxy was developed to respond to the changing needs of the next generation of travelers, and it is this tailored experience that has made it so appealing to both guests and developers alike,” says John Licence, vice president of premium and select brands at Marriott International, Europe. “Moxy Hotels allows our guests to not take themselves too seriously, providing them with personalized experiences in a well-designed space that is surprisingly affordable, with the latest technology and plenty of social spaces that blend work and play. Giving guests all the fun, comfort, and style without the hefty price tags has helped to set the brand up for success in Europe and beyond.”
The German market boasts nine Moxy hotels and is set to more than double its portfolio with an additional 16 properties due to open by the end of 2019 in key cities such as Frankfurt, Munich, Hamburg and Düsseldorf. Five new Moxy hotels will arrive in the UK by the end of this year in places such as Edinburgh, Glasgow, York, and Southampton. Along with the opening of the Moxy Oslo X, Copenhagen and Stavanger, Norway are currently in the pipeline. The next three years will also see Moxy’s entry into markets, including France, Georgia, Greece, Ireland, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, and Switzerland.
