Kimball Hospitality, a subsidiary of Kimball International, has announced its pending acquisition of Chula Vista, California-based metal furnishings provider D’style and its subsidiary Allan Copley Designs. The agreement is slated to close within the next 30 days.
The absorption will expand Kimball Hospitality’s reach into public spaces within the hospitality sector, while also boosting its product portfolio. The deal includes the acquisition of Tijuana, Mexico-based Diseños de Estilo, an exclusive D’style manufacturer that will extend Kimball’s manufacturing footprint in North America and provide a distribution channel into Mexican and Latin American hospitality markets.
“We are thrilled to bring D’style and Allan Copley Designs into our portfolio” says Kimball Hospitality president Kourtney Smith. “Strategically, this positions us to be a significant player in the public space area, expanding our reach beyond guestrooms. D’style’s custom metal capability is a huge asset with many designs incorporating mixed materials. Designers have trusted D’style with their custom creations for decades.”
Former co-owner and founder Roberto Besquin will remain at the helm of D’style as executive director, while former co-owner Jacob Shor will serve in the role of director of operations for D’style.
“Jacob and I are confident we’ve found a buyer that we are strategically aligned with and who is committed to investing in the business for future growth,” Besquin says. “We have had great success over the last 28 years and are excited to partner with someone who can help take our company to new heights.”
