Lodging Econometrics: Middle East Boasts Robust Construction Pipeline

The latest Construction Pipeline Trend Report from Lodging Econometrics (LE) indicates that the total pipeline for the Middle East has increased 21 percent by projects and 6 percent by guestrooms year-over-year (YOY). The region’s construction pipeline comprises 513 projects and 136,683 guestrooms.

The Middle East currently has 298 projects and 81,169 guestrooms under construction, an increase of 28 percent and 6 percent YOY, respectively. There are 108 projects and 25,783 guestrooms—respectively up 23 percent and 20 percent YOY—scheduled for construction in the next 12 months. The 107 projects in early planning represent a 3 percent gain, while guestrooms in early planning are down 3 percent with 29,731 reported.
