Celebrating 30 years, North American global design fair ICFF was held in New York at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center from May 20th-May 23rd. This year’s show saw nearly 900 exhibitors as well as more than 36,000 architects, interior designers, developers, and luxury retailers
“The feedback from attendees and exhibitors alike has been overwhelmingly positive—this year’s event was an exceptional combination of high-end international design, educational topics and industry networking,” says Kevin O’Keefe, ICFF show director and senior vice president of Emerald Expositions. “We plan on using this positive momentum to drive planning efforts not only for ICFF 2019, but also our ICFF South Florida event in December 2018.”
A fixture of ICFF for the last several years, the Luxe Interiors + Design pavilion showcased a swathe of designers and brands characterized by an elevated sense of style and opulence. The British European Design Group (BEDG) also celebrated its 25th anniversary with ICFF this year, highlighting 37 UK-based designers. Contemporary, handmade items from more than 180 German manufacturers were also included at the Pavilion, while the VIA French Design pavilion marked its fourth ICFF exhibition with 40 designs from the French furniture industry. Making their debut onsite this year were pavilions from the Swedish Cluster, Romania, Lithuania, and Poland.
High-profile forums ICFF Gallery and ICFF Studio returned again this year to support the next generation of design talent and boutique art collectives, while 33 conference sessions tackled industry issues ranging from sustainability to lighting and color trends. This year’s ICFF show also saw the inaugural presentation of the Anna Hernandez/Luna Textiles Education Fund Award, which recognized Tina Barnard of Tina Barnard Designs in Morrisville, North Carolina.
