Wyndham Hotel Group has signed a franchise agreement that adds Australia’s 55-key Ramada Resort Eco Beach Broome to the company’s growing Ramada brand portfolio in the South Pacific.
“Ramada is recognized as a global leader in the hospitality industry, which means its name brings additional credibility to an already thriving local business,” says Barry Robinson, president and managing director, South East Asia and Pacific Rim for Wyndham Hotel Group. “The addition of this award-winning property to our brand portfolio presents us with an opportunity to step into new and exciting territories, expanding our offerings in desirable locations where people want to travel.”
Located approximately one hour south of Broome in Australia’s Kimberley region, the 4.5-Star resort sits oceanside with beachfront views of the Indian Ocean.
The use of solar power and fluorescent lighting allow the eco-friendly property to be 70 percent self-sustainable. Recycled water is used for maintaining the grounds, which feature more than half a mile of elevated boardwalks to minimize guest impact on the local environment.
“The resort’s focus on eco-friendly operations aligns perfectly with Wyndham Hotel Group’s commitment to sustainability: one of our key strategic initiatives that is focused on conserving resources and minimizing our footprint in the communities where we work and live,” says Robinson.
Accommodations include solar-powered eco-villas with energy monitoring systems; safari-inspired eco-tents with ventilation and patented fly-screens; and beach houses with low-flow showerheads and toilets.
A new-construction Ramada Suites property has also been announced for development in Auckland, New Zealand and will join a portfolio of more than 80 Wyndham Hotels and Resorts-branded properties in South East Asia and the Pacific Rim.
