Shawmut Design and Construction has completed its renovation of Miami’s Smith & Wollensky outpost, which now boasts expanded indoor-outdoor dining and event spaces. The design was carried out with respect to the building, while also maximizing space through reconfigurations for added flexibility.
The 22,000-square-foot restaurant has been outfitted with an expansive new 36-seat racetrack marble-top bar on the first floor. The second floor has been upgraded with new textures and finishes, refinished floors, wallcoverings, and lighting. After uncovering a second-story terrace, a new and expanded overlook deck has made its debut, featuring a full bar, lounge, and table seating with views of South Pointe Park.
Shawmut was previously tapped to oversee renovations at the restaurant’s Boston location, and recently completed work on a structural remodel at Smith & Wollensky in Columbus, Ohio—all in collaboration with Boston-based Niemitz Design Group.
