Orange County, California-based King Seafood Company has launched its newest Water Grill restaurantin Costa Mesa’s South Coast Plaza. Spanning the 18,000 square feet, it is the largest Water Grill location.
Locally based Hatch Design Group—which also led the design for the brand’s other outposts in Los Angeles, San Diego, and Santa Monica—crafted the new 500-seat location, envisioning the space as a revitalized ship with multiple private dining options and event spaces. Locally sourced woods and authentic nautical components mark the interiors, juxtaposed with rustic and iron finishes, along with a raw bar and exhibition kitchen complete with large seawater tanks. While a copper-top bar anchors the dining area, the outdoor patio also includes a bar and extra seating.
