Two Roads Hospitality has announced the development of three Thompson Hotels in Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio.
The Thompson Dallas at the Drever is slated to open in 2018 in the city’s business district. The hotel will be part of the 50-story, 1.5 million-square-foot mixed-use tower, originally designed by architects George Dahl and Thomas E. Stanley in 1961.
Local firm Merriman Anderson/Architects will oversee designs for the 217-room hotel, which will include custom furnishings as well as elements that highlight original details, including white marble from Marathon, Greece and solar gray glass. Artwork will be featured in the public spaces. Two 1,800-square-foot Thompson Suites will be located on 49th floor, adjacent to the signature supper club-like lounge. The 50th floor will feature a panoramic rooftop observation deck, while the ninth floor will be home to the spa and wellness deck complete with five treatment rooms, a 21,000-square-foot fitness center, and an outdoor infinity pool. A 4,000-square-foot ballroom will open along with additional onsite bars and restaurants.
The Thompson San Antonio
Set to launch in 2019, the Thompson San Antonio will span 30 stories and will be steps from the city’s River Walk and other attractions. Houston-based firm Powers Brown Architecture will collaborate with Mexican design studio Amass & G. to craft the 167-room property, which will house 56 luxury residences. The hotel will feature oversized guestrooms and suites, a spa and fitness center, 3,600-square-foot ballroom, and outdoor pool overlooking the famed River Walk. F&B options will include a rooftop bar and street-level café.
The Thompson Houston will debut as a lifestyle destination in the city’s downtown and offer an authentic Texas experience.
