Eco-luxury resort Secret Bay located on the island of Dominica has debuted two new 1,600-square-foot treehouse-style villas. Crafted by Venezuelan architect Fruto Vivas along with Haitian architect Claude Lauture, the exterior of the Ylang Ylang villas resemble the regional flower after which they are named.
The new suites offer vistas of the forest and the sea, maximizing the natural setting. A single concrete column designed to resist hurricane-caliber weather supports the villas, which feature one bed and bath, two decks, an elevated pool directly accessible from the bedroom, an outdoor shower, a barbecue and a hammock sofa. Large glass windows and rooftops in corrugated laminar, staples of Caribbean architecture, are features as well.
The property now boasts eight bungalows and villas with clifftop views of the Caribbean Sea.
