Madrid-based boutique hotel chain Room Mate Hotels has announced plans to expand its presence with the launch of a new brand of beachfront properties. The new portfolio is currently under review and is slated to add roughly 2,000 guestrooms. Properties will also include bars, restaurants, beach clubs, rooftops, and other leisure alternatives.
“With our city projects now consolidated, the launch of this new line addresses the many requests that we have received to bring the Room Mate Hotels concept to beach destinations,” says Room Mate’s president and founder Kike Sarasola. “We want to bring the essence of Room Mate to unique holiday spots, offering excellent locations, magnificent design, and friendly service.”
Room Mate is currently assessing potential projects in Mexico, and in Spain in the Canary Islands, Costa del Sol, Ibiza, and Mallorca. The first of the new hotels are set to open by summer 2017.
