Pendry Hotels has introduced its first property, the Pendry San Diego, in the city’s downtown Gaslamp Quarter. Locally based ACRM Architects + Interiors created the exterior with Rottet Studio responsible for the 317 guestrooms, the 10,000 square foot pool deck, meeting space, and spa. In addition, Toronto-based Studio Munge was responsible for three F&B venues.
The hotel features three dining concepts and three bars. Provisional Kitchen, Café, and Mercantile will offer a restaurant and marketplace with communal dining, towering ceilings, bistro tables, and a retail space set within a greenhouse. Nason’s Beer Hall will pay homage to Nason & Co. Farmer’s Market, which occupied the hotel’s site in the early 1900s.
The elevated bar venue Fifth & Rose offers the comforts of a living room, clad in a palette of soft pink, green, and black with crimson detailing. Led by chef Jose Ruiz, Lionfish spans two floors. The hotel’s nightlife centerpiece Oxford Social Club conveys intimacy with banquette seating, plush furnishings, and an art installation that reflects a private residential ambiance. Offering unmatched views of the Gaslamp Quarter, the rooftop lounge the Pool House features a contemporary open-air design. Andy Masi of Clique Hospitality is responsible for Lionfish, Oxford Social Club, and the Pool House.
Additional amenities include the Spa Pendry and 35,000 square feet of indoor-outdoor meeting space, including the Grand Ballroom, flexible Parlor and Salon rooms, and private al fresco poolside deck.
