Nobu Hotels has announced its first European outpost, the Nobu Hotel Shoreditch, will debut this spring in London. The 143-room hotel will reflects the local culture and industrial aesthetic of the neighborhood with interiors from local firm Studio Mica.
London-based firm Ben Adams Architects crafted the exterior, expanding upon the plan originally outlined by Ron Arad Architects. The façade of the five-story property will be clad with angular, fair-faced concrete balconies that will form a frayed edge with cantilevered steel beams along the building’s northern face. Six protruding slab edges will break through the glazing to accentuate the horizontal form of the structure. The eastern side of the hotel will be home to an intimate, landscaped garden punctuated with terraces and seating. The garden will be drenched in natural light and will provide access to the triple-height restaurant and bar.
Designed by Malibu-based Studio PCH, the onsite Nobu Shoreditch seats 240 guests with a private dining room for up to 24. An outdoor courtyard featuring two terraces can fit an additional 85 guests. The hotel will also house 1,937 square feet of meeting space across six separate rooms.
