Kimpton Shorebreak Hotel in Huntington Beach, California has started a series of renovations, slated for completion in March. The 157-room hotel will see updates to its guestrooms and public spaces by Manhattan Beach, California-based studio Theresa Fatino Design. The property recently upgraded its fitness center, which now boasts a 40-foot-wide climbing wall.
Influenced by the hotel’s coastal location and its surrounding community, guestrooms will feature sleek, modern artwork and graphics with moody ocean shades, windswept ripples, and retro prints and furnishings. An upscale Southern California energy will define the exterior with marine colors gracing the façade. In addition, the renovation will add 1,800 square feet of meeting and event space.
The Kimpton Shorebreak will close its existing Zimzala Restaurant and Bar and launch the modern American-Asian concept Pacific Hideaway. The design will channel the flair of Southeast Asia, Latin America, and Japanese surf culture. Set to open this April, the eatery will include statement pieces, such as roll-up garage doors, a large hand-carved bar depicting ocean waves, and an expansive patio and lounge.
