The Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa has arrived on Grand Cayman along the famed Seven Mile Beach—the island’s first new resort in a decade and Kimpton’s first property outside the U.S., a new-build by San Francisco-based SB Architects with interiors by Dayna Lee and Ted Berner of Los Angeles firm Powerstrip Studio. The resort also debuts the Residences at Seafire, 62 accommodations set on 12 acres with pool decks shared with the resort.
The property is ripe with Caymanian flavor with elements influenced by local flora and regional artwork. Guestrooms and suites are all outfitted with floor-to-ceiling windows and balconies overlooking the talcum beaches and turquoise sea. Custom headboards depict a florally coral cutout design, radiant with vibrant fuschia and coral flame accents.
LA-based designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard has crafted the residences’ public spaces by drawing inspiration from the natural setting and island colors. In addition to a contemporary lobby, the property includes a rooftop lounge dubbed the Nest.
“The Cayman Islands is such a design-driven destination with an incredible flavor for modern luxury. I was inspired by the beautiful colors, history, and craftsmanship of the islands to create an upscale living haven at the Residences at Seafire,” Bullard says.
Floorplans vary from 600-square-foot boutique studios to spacious 4,000-square-foot four-bedroom options. Bi-fold doors will naturally link the indoor and outdoor living spaces, while high ceilings and light interiors will reflect the white sand of the beach.
