Kimpton De Witt, the brand’s first luxury European location, is set to open this spring in Amsterdam.
The hotel will be housed within three original Renaissance-era buildings joined with locally inspired touches. One of the structures, known as Little House, was once the home of Dutch playwright P.C. Hooft. Little House will be available for private groups, and includes ground floor meeting space, a first-floor living area installed with luxuriant couches, bar stools, and a wet bar.
A playful, provocative edge will define the hotel’s design, while also honoring regional history. An eye-catching living wall will line the entrance with vibrant floral arrangements, and an open-air interior courtyard will host a flower shop as well.
The hotel will house 274 guestrooms, including 15 signature suites, most of which will include private terraces. Envisioned as a hub fit for the modern collector, a series of unexpected but refined details will be included in guestroom designs such as contemporary interpretations of classic Dutch artwork and bird-shaped bedside lights that reflect a glow onto blush marble tables.
