The Hyatt Centric Waikiki Beach has debuted at the former Waikiki Trade Center, featuring designs from Santa Monica, California-based DESIGN360unlimited and architecture from local firm Group 70. Through design-forward spaces, the 230-room hotel explores the concept of kīpuka, the Hawaiian term for oasis that is physically represented by an island surrounded by an outpouring of lava.
A six-foot-tall custom green sculpture resembling circular driftwood clad with local vegetation greets guests in the lobby, set against an accent wall that recalls rough lava to further perpetuate the theme, along with corridors with clean and simple lines and soft blue ombré wallcoverings reminiscent of the calming sea and sky. Located with the lobby on the eighth floor, the pool deck, restaurant, and bar exude freshness with an outdoor area that offers refuge with green walls, bamboo trees, and lush local flora. Organic artwork calls to mind sea creatures, while abundant tropical wood and teak furniture showcases the setting’s natural beauty.
Spacious guestrooms with large spa-like bathrooms feature a soothing design with an array of green and blue tones and floor-to-ceiling windows that capture sweeping Hawaiian views.

Included among the hotel’s various amenities are a lounge pool, outdoor seating around circular firepits, and a 24-hour fitness center. Onsite bar and restaurant the Lanai spans 1,900 square feet and features a modern, island-inspired aesthetic, while the property is also home to a number of retail spaces.
