IHG has announced that the Hotel Indigo Denver will arrive in the Mile High City next month. Designed by Atlanta-based John Portman & Associates and Brooklyn-based Mark Zeff Design the 180-room, LEED-certified property is located in the city’s Union Station neighborhood, and features a façade of stacked elements like transparent glass on the ground floor, perforated metal screening, and floor-to-ceiling glazing.
“The hotel will reinvigorate the street through transparency, connectedness, and public space development in a responsive and sustainable project for the city of Denver,” says design director Gordon Beckman.
Guestrooms will be outfitted with hardwood floors, polished concrete ceilings, interior sliding barn doors, oversized beds and desks, and spa-inspired showers. The locally inspired design will showcase artwork that recalls the Colorado gold rush through murals of the Rocky Mountains and the Colorado Front Range.
Featured among the hotel’s 1,188 square feet of meeting and event space will three multifunctional spaces—the Hickenlooper boardroom, the Green room, and the Russell room—capable of accommodating up to 200 guests. The property will also include a 24-hour fitness center.
