HBA has been tapped to design the Hotel Indigo Los Angeles Downtown, which is slated to open in early 2017. Located in the emerging Downtown Historic Core, the 350-room property will span 18 floors and feature interiors inspired by the city’s storied history.
Debuting as the new brand flagship, the Hotel Indigo Los Angeles Downtown marks Indigo’s entry into the LA market. The hotel is housed in one of four towers in the city’s downtown Metropolis development.
Early 20th-century LA will be honored throughout the property with playful nods to historic Chinatown, Prohibition Era speakeasies, Hollywood’s Golden Age, and La Fiesta de las Flores, a precursor to the Rose Parade. These colorful scenes will serve as the backdrop for each guestroom and suite, capturing the essence of the surrounding neighborhood. Top floor cocktail lounge 18 Social will offer expansive city views and contemporary décor influenced by LA nightlife, while ground floor eatery Metropole Bar + Kitchen will be outfitted with a circular entrance mirroring the underground tunnels used to transport spirits and other contraband to the city’s unmarked dives. Additional amenities include a lobby bar and lounge, an outdoor swimming pool and deck, and a fitness center.
