The Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita will debut its newly revamped Apuane Spa and Sol and Luna suites next month following a multimillion-dollar redesign from Long Beach, California firm Kollin Altomare Architects and Chicago-based Anderson Miller. The renovation also includes an update to the property’s Tamai pool thanks to Victor Jimenez of Studio 365.
The spa is inspired by the local Huichol indian culture and the beauty of Punta Mita. A new reception area will feature Mexican-inspired artifacts, while a serene fountain and a reflexology pool anchor the new relaxation courtyard complete with indigenous flora. Thirteen enlarged treatment rooms as well as a private Apuane suite will be unveiled along with an expanded beauty salon.
Also by Anderson Miller, the revamped Sol and Luna suites include Mexican-inspired décor, indoor-outdoor living spaces, sweeping private terraces, and infinity pools. Doubled in size to almost 7,000 square feet, the Sol suite includes five oceanfront bedrooms while the four-bedroom Luna suite spans 5,000 square feet, and both feature panoramic ocean views.
The new pool reflects the work of local artisans while adding a contemporary twist with organic materials evoking region’s natural beauty. Plush sunbeds, hammocks, hanging chairs, and palm-roofed palapas are crafted with natural materials and fabrics sourced from a collection curated for the Museum of Mexico.
