DLR Group, the Omaha-based architectural and engineering firm, and Boston’s real estate investment firm CrossHarbor will reposition the Lodge at Gainesville in Florida into a DoubleTree by Hilton.
The 205-room property showcases classic Southern décor with artistic renditions of classic Southern landscapes, historic collegiate photos, bird imagery, and other modern elements. It will also house a collection of locally sourced vintage art and contemporary art geared toward the University of Florida and the community.
“We want to elevate the current design to meet the new needs of the clientele and the Lodge is known by [University of Florida] alumni, but we want to take that a step further,” says DLR’s hospitality leader Staci Patton.
The scope of the 115,527-square-foot hotel includes renovated public space and courtyard space, a Made Market F&B concept, an indoor-outdoor bar, and refreshed guestrooms with new finishes, bathrooms, and décor.
