The Grand Waliea, A Waldorf Astoria Resort, has debuted its new look following a $70 million redesign from Los Angeles-based Barry Design Associates (BDA). Set upon 40 tropical acres that overlook the Pacific Ocean, the Maui resort now boasts 780 refreshed guestrooms and 52 suites.
The 99-room Napua Tower, which is home to accommodations in a private club area at the center of the property, has also been upgraded. In addition to new furniture, guestroom bathrooms have been updated with new golden onyx and natural stone trims.
The 50,000-square-foot Spa Grande’s 40 treatment rooms and public areas feature a contemporary look complete with ohia wood floors, modern window shades and light fixtures, and air conditioning. The relaxation area is now outfitted with softer island-inspired tones, sand-colored carpeting, and upholstered seating. Outdoor relaxation space includes new chaise lounges.
Enhancements were also made to dining facilities including the Grand Dining Room Maui and the signature Humuhumunukunukuapua’a restaurant, named for the state fish.
