Located at Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Pier 1, the 10-story 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge is set to debut in New York February 2017. Sustainably designed by locally based architecture firm Incorporated, the 194-room hotel aims to honor the local community while also promoting a green lifestyle. Reclaimed, locally sourced materials will be featured, such as original heart pine beams from the former Domino Sugar Factory, walnut from the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, and pine floors from the Old Crow Distillery in Kentucky.
Guestrooms, including 29 two- to six-bedroom suites, will be clad with sliding floor-to-ceiling windows, maximizing views of the East River, the Brooklyn Bridge, and the Manhattan skyline. Reflecting brand principles, native trees and filtered water taps will be installed in each room.
With a focus on art and nature, pieces from local artists will be featured in the lobby and public spaces, incorporating native greenery into sculptures and a living green wall. Onsite amenities will include the Bamford Spa, a Field House fitness center, a yoga and barre studio, and an open-kitchen restaurant. Among the 20,000 square feet of meeting and event space will be a 50-seat screening room.
