Wyndham Hotel Group is expanding upon its Ramada brand in China with the opening of one hotel and the signing of seven additional hotels.
Having already opened, Ramada Nanjing is the first of several forthcoming Ramada branded properties planned for the market. Additionally signed locations will all open by 2017 throughout Chinese provinces that include Jiangsu, Hubei, Shandong, and Sichuan. Upon completion, the hotels will increase Wyndham’s regional Ramada portfolio, which currently includes 60 hotels in China, by more than 10 percent.
“With these newest properties, we’re strengthening the brand’s footprint in China and expanding its reach into what we believe to be key second-tier and third-tier cities,” says Leo Liu, president and managing director of Wyndham Hotel Group, Greater China.
The 156-room Ramada Nanjing was developed by airline operator China Eastern Airline Jiangsu Co. as an upscale business hotel near Nanjing Lukou International Airport. Amenities include a business center, fitness center, multifunctional meeting space, and two restaurants.
The 245-room Ramada Plaza Chibi will open later this year in Hubei nearby the city’s government offices and railway station. It is slated to offer a pool, fitness center, business center, ballroom, meeting space, and three restaurants.
The remaining six forthcoming properties include the 150-room Ramada Encore Emeishan, the 200-room Ramada Encore Shanghai Hongqiao, the 200-room Ramada Dongying, the 243-room Ramada Guangzhou Conghua, the 300-room Ramada Suzhou, and the 200-room Ramada Jining.
