Virgin Hotels, the lifestyle hotel brand by Virgin Group founder Sir Richard Branson, has announced plans for a new hotel in Palm Springs. Slated to open in 2018, Virgin Hotel Palm Springs will be managed by Virgin Hotels and developed by Wessman Development.
Located in the heart of downtown, the hotel is a new build designed by local architect Chris Pardo. It features 150 Chambers and Grand Chamber suites, along with multiple F&B outlets including the Commons Club, a brand flagship. A rooftop terrace and pool overlooks both the San Jacinto and Santa Rosa mountains, as well as a new outdoor public event space hosted by the Palm Springs Art Museum. As a result, guests at the hotel will receive complimentary seats to all concerts, movies, and cultural performances taking place at the venue.
“Opening a property in California has been on our wishlist since day one, and as Palm Springs has grown beyond its reputation of a retreat for Californians, we knew it was the perfect location for a Virgin Hotel,” says Virgin Hotels CEO Raul Leal.
Virgin Hotels has plans to expand across the U.S., and in international locations. Along with the recently opened Virgin Hotel Chicago, projects are planned in Nashville, Dallas, and New York.
