Kansas City-based Populous has unveiled an updated set of renderings for the Milwaukee Bucks’ new multipurpose arena in downtown Milwaukee. The 714,000-square-foot property will host sports and entertainment events, as well as anchor a surrounding entertainment district.
“Inspired by the natural beauty of Wisconsin’s rivers, lakes, and forests, this new Wisconsin landmark will stand out as an iconic addition to the cityscape and seamlessly connect with surrounding neighborhoods,” says Brad Clark, senior principal at Populous. “The goal is to design a lasting symbol for all of Wisconsin, pairing the crafted scale of Milwaukee’s architecture and innovative spirit with the natural beauty of the state.”
Design highlights include a handcrafted zinc patina exterior punctuated by sections of glass that displays activity within the stadium.
The city of Milwaukee and local public officials must approve the plans before construction can begin this summer.
