Hilton Worldwide plans to reach more than 100 hotels in Latin America and the Caribbean this year, with a portfolio growth rate of 60 percent expected through 2017.
Having opened 20 hotels this year, the company currently has 90 properties in the region with an estimated 20,000 rooms, and expects to open 10 more.
The company’s expansion plan includes seven of its brands, such as Conrad Hotels & Resorts, Hilton Hotels & Resorts, DoubleTree by Hilton, Embassy Suites by Hilton, Homewood Suites by Hilton, Hilton Garden Inn, and Hampton by Hilton.
Newly opened properties include the 298-room Hilton Barra Rio de Janeiro; Anselmo Buenos Aires, the first Curio – A Collection by Hilton hotel in Latin America; Hilton Garden Inn Guatemala City, the first Hilton Worldwide hotel in Guatemala; and the 355-room Hilton Aruba Caribbean Resort & Casino.
Forthcoming openings include Hilton Garden Inn Cusco, Peru; Hampton by Hilton Santa Cruz—the company’s first Bolivian property; DoubleTree by Hilton Calama and Hilton Garden Inn Iquique in Chile; DoubleTree by Hilton in Bogota; four Hampton Inn by Hilton hotels in Mexico; and Hilton Garden Inn Montevideo, Uruguay.
