Hilton Worldwide has announced the addition of nine properties in Mexico to its portfolio. Totaling nearly 1,200 guestrooms, the new hotels will join Hilton’s more than 45 existing hotels in Mexico. Designers for each project have not yet been announced.
Hampton Inn by Hilton Cancun
Slated to open in the first quarter of 2017, the 128-room Hilton Garden Inn Merida in the Altabrisa region offers easy access to one of the city’s largest malls, Plaza Altabrisa. The 189-room Hilton Garden Inn Mexico City Santa Fe will open in 2017 as part of the first dual-branded Hilton property in Mexico. The 172-room DoubleTree by Hilton Mexico City Santa Fe, the other half of the development, opened last month. The 134-room Hampton Inn by Hilton Cancun is set to open this year in Cancun’s Pabellon Cumbres area.
1970 Hotel Posadas Guadalajara, Curio Collection by Hilton
The 226-room Hilton Guadalajara Midtown, a major part of of the Midtown Jalisco project, will open in 2018. The 110-room Hilton Garden Inn and the 90-room Homewood Suites by Hilton Saltillo, Hilton’s first dual-property property announced in Mexico, will open in late 2019.

Three Curio collection hotels will be added to Hilton’s Mexico portfolio, including: the Zacatecas Centro Historico, scheduled to open in early 2018, offers 32 guestrooms, retail space, two restaurants, a coffee shop, and specialty stores; the 160-room 1970 Hotel Posadas Guadalajara, which features a restaurant, bar, gift shop, fitness center, and open-air courtyard lobby clad with industrial metals, raw wood, vivid color, and intricate patterns; and the Fives Downtown Hotel Playa del Carmen, Hilton’s first location in Playa del Carmen. The 93-room new build will honor the region’s natural offerings with a design that includes a grand wall of live plants. The rooftop will feature a restaurant, cocktail bar, infinity pool, bar, and lounge.
