Choice Hotels International has added the historic Giacomo Hotel to its Ascend Hotel Collection.
“We couldn’t be more excited to become part of the Ascend Hotel Collection and begin our affiliation with other likeminded and distinctive boutique properties,” says William Paladino, manager of First Street Group, owner of the Giacomo, and CEO of Ellicott Development Company, which manages the property. “The ability to retain our local character, style, flavor, and the guest experience we offer with the backing of the Choice Hotels and Ascend Hotel Collection reservations system and customer services will solidify our position as a premier destination hotel in Niagara Falls.”
Located within walking distance of Niagara Falls in New York, the 20-story hotel was formerly known as the United Office building when it was completed in 1929 and remains one of the tallest structures in downtown Niagara Falls. Architecturally, it embodies an Art Deco aesthetic with a Mayan revival motif. The building was added to the State and National Registers of Historic Places in 2006.
The property is positioned across the street from the area conference center, and nearby the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute.
The 41-room hotel is decked in luxury European décor, with select rooms featuring a hot tub, fireplace, or both.
Amenities include concierge butler service, a fitness center, and the 19th-floor Sky View Lounge.
