Ken Schindler, the president at WALTERS, died unexpectedly on Friday, October 7th in Englewood, New Jersey. He was 56 years old.
Schindler was born in Brooklyn in 1960. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami and built his life and career in New Jersey.
Schindler was president and owner of WALTERS, an outdoor furniture and custom home furnishings company, since 1981 and is the third generation the family business. The company’s clients range from residential to 5-Star hotels all over the world. Under his leadership, WALTERS grew to include the Wicker Works, a high-end wicker furniture company based in San Francisco, and Giati, a teak furniture and fabric company in Santa Barbara, California.
He is survived by his parents Walter and Renee Schindler; his sister Randi (Schindler) Paris; his wife Debra Bale Schindler; and his children Adam, Scott, and Stacy.
